Double Trouble and The Three Amigos Challenges

Double Trouble has one extra challenge this month, making this Challenge #6. Thing One asks for something, anything, or everything. Thing Two suggests we add our post to a previous partner. And, Thing Three asks us to decorate the inside of our card. One of our previous partners was The Three Amigos so I am joining in on their embossing, wet or dry, challenge.
I had an unused stamp set from Recollections,Cheeky Modern Pop Unicorn, that was sitting in my "neglected" pile. I also had some very thin black paper sitting in a pile. So, I stamped "SOMETHING", the Unicorn on the black paper with white ink, colored lightly in white and then added the colors using Polychromos pencils. I added some shine with sparkle pens and some Glossy Accents on the horn. The background is both wet and dry EMBOSSED adding Wow gold embossing powder over an embossed piece of Yupo that had been colored with alcohol inks (it's the pink and yellow vertical stripes that you can barely see). The sentiment on the front was from the set and I added some pretty Liquid Pearls.

To add to the INSIDE of the card, I stamped the sentiment that came with the set then added some Bo Bunny glitter paste through an Altenew stencil called Warp Speed.

Hope you'll join in on the fun for both of these groups! Thanks for your visit.

Head in the Clouds

Our sponsor this month is All Dressed Up. This week over, at Twisted Thursday, the optional twist is Double Embossing!
This adorable giraffe is called Head in the Clouds, and I just had to have him!

Zig Clean Color Real Brushes were used to color the giraffe. The embossed background is a Darice folder that was swiped with Powderpuff Chalk Inks for my first embossed element. For the second, the edges (cut with Penny Black's Antique Frames), I ran some of the chalk inks around the edges and then covered and heat embossed using clear embossing powder then popped the matted image. Some enamel dots (Large, Bella Blvd. and small, Whimsy), Nuvo red and black Crystal drops for the eyes and tongue, and a tiny glossed red bird from Memory Box finished up the card.

Thanks for dropping by. I always appreciate any comments that you leave.

Paper Sweeties Homespun Holiday Card

I saw the wonderful inspiration photo for this month's Paper Sweeties Anything Goes Challenge and I just had to jump in.
I was inspired by the items in a row, which I did but vertically, the red/brown/green combo, and the holiday season.

I used the Sweet Cuts, Homespun Holiday. (The link goes to the dies. I couldn't find the stamp set.) I stamped in black Versamark and heat set the little hearts. The sentiment comes from the same set.

Thank You in Fall Colors with Paper Smooches Stamps

Just had to do one more card for Paper Smooches. The November challenge is Fall.
For the background, I used fall colors of Distress Oxides on Bristol paper with splattered Shimmer spray. I embossed different leaves in gold from the very versatile Botanicals 2 stamp set and then added the sentiment in a darker gold from the Delightful Greetings set. A few Nuvo Crystal drops were added to the centers of the orange flowers.

Thanks for stopping by, and a special thanks to all that leave comments!

My Fish from PpinkyDolls

Last week of the month, so Twisted Thursday is an anything goes week. Our sponsor this month was PpinkyDolls. I love this image called My Fish.
The background is a large Recollections stamp embossed with white and then blended over with Distress Inks. I used the texturing technique on the fish using Copic blender over a piece of terry cloth and dabbed over the colored image. The image is fussy cut and popped up over another die cut waves and ribbon.

Butterfly Wisdom from MKH Designs

The optional twist over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is to use embossing. Our sponsor, MKH Designs has a beautiful set of butterflies called Butterfly Wisdom. I colored this image with my Polychromos and edged with Distress Inks. I also added a bit of Wink of Stella. The background was done with an embossing folder. I used a clear embossing powder and went over with Distress Inks. I made a tiny purple bow and attached a couple of dimensional butterflies from Basic Grey.

Wind Blown Penguin

This week for the challenge over at i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #129, I chose to use both the sketch and the twist. The twist was to use heat embossing. I used a snowflake stamp from Hero Arts and embossed it with clear embossing ink and stamped it on to white cardstock. Then, after heat setting, I went over it with several shades of blue Distress Inks and wiped it with a baby wipe. The three snowflakes are plastic white ones that I sprayed with my Copics in B2. I used thee ribbons to make the stripe in the background that matched the colors of the balloons. This cute little penguin and sentiment come from a set called Wind Blown Penguin.

Playing With Snow

The optional twist over at Twisted Thursday on The Outlawz is to do "paper piecing". Well, that's a new one for me and I had to ask what it was. It simply means to cut out, from different papers, part of the image. Our sponsor, PpinkyDolls, has this cute little girl, Playing With the Snow. I colored her with Copics and then added a sweater, scarf, and ear muffs from patterned paper from Colorbok. The ends of the scarf are lifted with foam tabs. I used the same sweater paper for the base that keeps the card propped open. The big flakes are made with Neon Amplify and the bottom snow and bigger flakes and sentiment are embossed with Snow from Recollections. The white brad is from Recollections and the small snowflakes were stamped with Hero Arts White Ink.

That Folder with Butterflies

I finally got "that" folder as it is called by everyone on Facebook. It is such a beautiful folder and had to be special ordered as it came with one of those English card making magazines, Papercraft Essentials #122. There have been so many beautiful cards made with this folder by others and I knew I couldn't possible make anything so elegant. So, in my normal fashion, I played with the folder. I used a different folder for the top portion with all the little butterflies. I used Dylusion Ink pads to do the background on top of some white embossing. The bottom was rubbed over with inks as well. I made two of the die cut butterflies. The bottom one has the same inks over it to make a shadow. the butterfly is popped up. I used the watercolor technique with the ink pad to color the borders and the circles. Finally, a bit of Wink of Stella was added to the large butterfly.

A Sunburst with a Sundae

This is my last week as a guest designer for Deedee's Digis. I certainly have enjoyed working with such nice images. If you have not yet looked at the images available, please do so. She has some lovely sets. This week, I chose the set called A Little Something. This set includes a cake, cupcake,  papers, and sentiments besides this fun ice cream sundae! I used a die cut to cut out the image and raised it with foam over the paper sunburst that I made for the background from cutting two different papers from Nana's Kids Mat Stack. I used Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder with a sprinkle of glitter over the whipped cream. The cherry has Glossy Accents for dimension and there is a bit of Wink of Stella over the rest.

Spectrum Noir Challenge, Using Red

I am very pleased to have become accredited as a Spectrum Noir colorist and decided to enter a little challenge with them using the color red. I LOVE red, so this was a fun one for me to do. The image is from Tiddly Inks and I added her to a card that has some hand punched edging, a wooden heart that was embossed with a glittery black as was the hearts and arrow stamp, a bit of ribbon and a few dots and a tiny bit of white gel highlighting completed this card. Spectrum Noirs are fun to color with and have a nice nib for getting into small areas. They are also kind to your pocketbook!

Have a Cupcake - CAS (Clean and Simple)

Today I made a CAS, Clean and Simple, with a cute little Penny Black stamp called Sweet Thing. I added a bit of Wink of Stella and gel pen in yellow and clear. I used a die to cut her out with scallops, raised her and the black embossed sentiment with foam dots, and placed them both on an embossed (The Paper Studio) green paper with a simple purple ribbon. The edges of everything, including the white stock card, were buffed with VersaMark in purple.

CAS - Clean and Simple Celebrate YOU!

The Outlawz, CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge was to do a Fall Wedding card. I wanted to play with my airbrush, so I did a white piece of cardstock with a YG25 Copic. Then, I cut out an oval and did an embossed (Zing Leaf) sentiment. I stamped three leaves and colored with YG25, YR16, YR27 and E99 then added some Wink of Stella. Finally, three little dots and a swish around the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. CAS, nice and simple!

Christmas Gifts from a House Mouse

I had so much fun making this card using one of my House Mouse stamps from Stupendous. I used my spray gun to do the green on the raised flower that is holding a package, and on the circle so they would match. I also fussy cut the mouse and added some embossed "snow". I did some paper piecing with the packages adding one more to the grouping. The top of the mouse and the flower and the gift are each raised with foam squares.
