Free Hugs

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #154 offered a sketch and an optional twist to show off our coloring skills. I really liked the sketch since it offered a bit more space for a larger image to color. However, larger images make coloring imperfections bigger too LOL!
This image is called Free Hugs and comes with this sentiment and several others as well. I thought I could make an easel card and still follow the sketch. You can see it better when it is closed.

Hot Chick Flamingo Shaker Card

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #153 offered a sketch and an optional twist to fussy cut the image. I wasn't able to fussy cut this sweet flamingo because his legs were just to skinny LOL! However, I did flip the image because I had something totally different in mind when I began this card. This image is called Hot Chick Flamingo and I knew I wanted to make a shaker card. Then, everything went sideways on me. Ever have one of those days? At least I followed the sketch, and it turned out fine (but different) in the end. The image was colored with Polychromos pencils. The sentiment comes with the set.

Rose Silhouette and Butterfly

The optional twist this week over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is "flowers". I used an SVG file, Rose Silhouette, from My Scrap Chick and cut with my Scan n Cut for the card base, and added this side-view butterfly from our sponsor, MHK Designs.
The image was colored with Copic Markers in Y11,15, 19, 38, and W2. Wink of Stella was added for a bit of sparkle and the oval cut image was edged with Distress Inks.

Sick Chick

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #152 offered a sketch and an optional twist to enlarge and crop the image. I wasn't able to enlarge the image since the original was already large and he would not have fit on the card. This poor and terribly ill little Birdbrain image is called Sick Chick.  I used Gina Marie Designs dies, Fine and Dandy paper from Echo Park, Queen Co dies for the green which is popped over the striped paper. The image has a bit of Broken China Distress inks.

Thank you so much for visiting. I really appreciate your comments.

Butterfly Wisdom from MKH Designs

The optional twist over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is to use embossing. Our sponsor, MKH Designs has a beautiful set of butterflies called Butterfly Wisdom. I colored this image with my Polychromos and edged with Distress Inks. I also added a bit of Wink of Stella. The background was done with an embossing folder. I used a clear embossing powder and went over with Distress Inks. I made a tiny purple bow and attached a couple of dimensional butterflies from Basic Grey.

Bouquet Chick

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #151 offered a sketch and an optional twist to try a handwritten sentiment. I did both this week. This pretty little Birdbrain image is called Bouquet Chick. I used my own handwritten, you can tell I'll bet LOL, sentiment. I used Gina Marie Designs dies. Martha Stewart corner punch, Paper Studio Adhesive Chevron paper, yellow ribbon, and tiny flat pearls.

If you love these Birdbrain images, hurry over to From the Heart to get one for free! I'm sure this generous offer won't last long but was still available on this posting day.

Fifi

Ppinkydolls gave us this sweet little image called Fifi to use for this month's Progressive Freebie Challenge over at The Outlawz. The background is an embossing folder that I got free with one of the British magazines, and I added color with Distress inks to match the image. I made the flowers and sprayed them with Copics. Each center has a bit of Stickles for sparkle. The image is cut with Gina Marie Dies, edged with Distress Inks, popped up over a bit of ribbon.
