Raining Day with PpinkyDolls

It's an anything goes over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz. Our sponsor, PpinkyDolls  sweet image Raining Day; seemed perfect for a spring time, rainy day easel card.  The embossed, Darice, card front was darkened with some Distress Inks. The square shape of the image was cut with a Gina Marie Designs die. Raindrops were enhanced with drops of Glossy Accents. The umbrella shaft and top piece were done with a silver Slicci gel pen. The sentiment is from Penny Black's April Showers stamp set.

Paper Piecing Balloons

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #158 offered a sketch and an optional twist to use paper piecing. Well, I color. That's what I do. Paper piecing? Not so much. However, a challenge is a challenge and sometimes we just have to step out of our comfort zone. I stepped waaaay out LOL! These balloons, in the center, come from a set called Photo Ham PigWit balloons. The die cut oval is from Darice, and the balloons on the left are from Creative Dies. All balloons were topped with Spectrum Noir Sparkle.

If you visit before June 30, I have entered a coloring (with Copic) contest over at Dover Publications. Since I entered just a day ago, I'm sure my votes are very low and it ends soon. If you have a moment, I would most appreciate it if you could click on this link and vote for me. (Or someone else if you choose.) Thank you!

Coffee or Tea?

Well Zoe, from Twofers Challenges, invited me over to join in on the creative fun. Hard to say no to a group that not only allows, but requires "real" stamps to be used instead of digis. I'll bet I'm not the only one that looks at all their delicious stamps and, because they, like me, do design team cards with digi sponsors,  never get to use them. So, here I am with a stamp that I bought some time ago and still hadn't used. It is from PowerPoppy called Short Stacks. The embossed folder I used is from The Paper Studio, and the stitched die cuts were done using Gina Marie Designs.
Oh, and by the way, I love BOTH coffee and tea :)

My Fish from PpinkyDolls

The optional twist over at Twisted Thursday on The Outlawz this week is to "show some water"! I selected this image, My Fish, from out sponsor, PpinkyDolls. I used a die cut from Queen Co. and added the cutout to double sided sticky paper. I then filled the circles with glitter. (I wish sparkle showed up in the photo better and the image would be sharper if my phone camera focused on her rather than on the sentiment.) I then tried to remover the sticky back to adhere to cardstock and saw that it was going to pull off the glitter too, so I used double sided tape instead. A stitched circle die from Gina Marie Designs was used to cut out the image and then popped it up for dimension. The "wave" is a leftover piece from another Queen Co. die, and the water plants and the sentiment come from Simon Says Stamp Best Fishes.

Birthday Cocktail from SheepSkiDesigns

Andrea Norris, Sheep Ski Designs, is the sponsor for Creative Sketchy Girls where this wonderfully creative sketch is from. The image, from Andrea, is called Birthday Cocktail. I used a sentiment from a set from From the Heart.  The flowers, once white, were sprayed a matching color with my Copic air brush system and some Distress inks were added to the white edges. The stitched circle comes from Gina Marie Designs and I added some hand drawn stitches on some of the other papers.

FlipFlop Summer

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #157 offered a sketch and an optional twist make it sparkle. This was a fun sketch with the circles, and I found a wonderful set with flip flops and several sentiments that worked perfectly with the circles. The circles, cut with Gina Marie Design Dies, are recessed and the gold paper is sparkly even though it wont show up in the photo. I also added some sparkle with the little diamond stars on the flip flops, because what are flip flops without a touch of bling?

PpinkyDolls Hippocampus/Seahorse

The Outlawz group, Twisted Thursday, has an optional twist to add a button. I found some little seashell buttons that went perfectly with this sweet image called hippocampus from our sponsor Ppinkydolls. I just cut off the shanks so they would be flat on the back. I made a side step card and after embossing the papers, I went over them with Distress inks. The image has a bit of Wink of Stella added for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is from Kaiser Craft.

Many Thanks from a Mouse with a Balloon

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #156 offered a sketch and an optional twist Gratitude. I loved the sketch and found this sweet little mouse with a balloon that left me a spot for a thank you from Stampendous, Fresh Blossoms set. I made the vertical banners by coloring a piece of watercolor paper with my Copics and then die cutting with Corner Banner from C.C. Designs. The image is edged with Distress Inks and popped up with foam for some added dimension. Not to waste a bit of that colored paper, I used a balloon die from Creative Dies and added some fun to the inside.

Selene from Andrea Norris SheepSkiDesigns

One of my design team members over at The Outlawz does some really wonderful digi images. Her name is Andrea Norris from Sheep Ski Designs. She is doing her very first challenge over at Facebook. I used a free image, Selene, that she generously shared to try out a technique that I learned from Zoe over at Make it Crafty. What fun I had today!

Pocket Card for Birthday Cash

Happy 14th birthday to my grandson, TJ! I used this wonderful stamp by Dove Art Studios, C.C. Designs, called Pocket Background. I used a similar layout that Jenn showed in her class back in February. (Lucky me; I live in the same area where Jenn gives Copic classes!)
I used the traditional "denim" Copic colors of B91-93-95-97. The image is stamped twice and cut out once in order to make a pocket for filling with money or a gift card. Rivets are made with brads.

Bear Friend from PpinkyDolls

The optional Twisted Thursday twist over at The Outlawz, is "transportation"! I'm not sure I would want to travel bear back! (pun intended) However, I got this sweet little image called Bear Friend from our sponsor this month, Ppinkydolls and had fun putting together a, free from Birds Cards, SVG scalloped card using my Scan n Cut. I also used some Gina Marie Designs Dies for the smaller circles. I added some Distress Inks around the edges and a few little flat pearls.
I trimmed of a small portion across the bottom scallop so that it would stand.

PigWit Cold Suds

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #155 offered a sketch and an optional twist to Use a circle. Okay, I was smitten by Birdbrain, but this cute little pig is a close runner up. The image is called PigWit Cold Suds and I think he is just too cute with his mug of beer. This will go to one of my sons who is often seen with one of those green bottles LOL! The circle was cut with Gina Marie Designs die and the papers come from The Paper Studio Eat Cake. The image is edged with Distress Inks and popped up for interest.

Ice Cream Lineup

The monthly progressive challenge, From the Heart, offers this fun ice cream lineup set. Who couldn't love one (or all) of these yummy looking bowls of ice cream? The sentiment comes with the set. The edge of the white cardstock was edged with the same Copic green as the mint ice cream. The papers are from My Creative Scoop. I added some Wink of Stella and some Glossy Accents and popped the image up on foam tape.

Gran's Chair with Double Stamping

The June Progressive Freebie is now open over at The Outlawz. This month our digi is from Beccy Muir of Beccy's Place. I thought this image, Gran's Chair Set, was so pretty and I wanted to make a pretty background for it as well. I did my first double stamping technique using a set from Hero Arts called Butterfly and Flower Stamp and Cut and kept the coloring very loose with a water color look. I added Distress Inks edge the Gina Marie Designs die cut. The image and one additional flower were popped up. The sentiment is from the same Hero Arts set and is popped up as well.

Fantail Goldfish with Distress Inks

I'm working my way through the Online Classes from Tim Holtz called Creative Chemistry 101 again. All of us that have taken the classes before are doing reviews before the new one, 103 begins in August. I think it is great to redo these lessons and I decided to apply one to a completed card. I started with watercolor paper and did the Distress Inks smooshed onto the craft sheet with added water technique. I added several layers and then stamped the fantail goldfish by Dove Art Studious for C.C. Designs and fussy cut them out. Then, I did a second watercolored version with different blues and edged with a darker blue for the background. The fish are added with dimensional foam, I added some Glossy Accents to the eyes and for some bubbles in the water. I backed it with a piece of Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Collection paper and attached to a A2 card base. Love this technique!

Unicorn Betsy

This week's optional twist over at The Outlawz, Twisted Thursday, is "animal". Our sponsor, Ppinkydolls, has this sweet little girl with her unicorn, called Unicorn Betsy, that I just found irresistible. I was really in the mood for some fun, so I colored the unicorn in magic colors. I used a corner punch on the image, edged it with Distress Inks, and popped it up with foam. The background is a paper sunburst that I made using origami papers. I added burlap butterflies that I sprayed with my Copic air brush. The sentiment, also popped, is from a Tim Holtz Small Talk pad.
