MFT Close-Knit Friendship Card

I have never entered the Wednesday Sketch Challenge over at My Favorite Things, but I do love all of the Pure Innocence line. This one, Closs-Knit, doesn't seem to be available any longer though.

The challenge shows a sketch to follow:

Many of you know that following a sketch is really hard for me, so as much as I tried, the image required some alterations, LOL!

I printed out some knitted work from Pixabay, then used that color as my main choice in Copics for the rest of the coloring.  Her dress in, RV's, is dotted with white gel pen. I used a stencil from Tim Holtz to add some matching Turquoise Sea ink from Gina K to the background as well as to edge the pieces.

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments!

Masculine VW Bug Card

The optional twist this time for Twisted Thursday on the Outlawz, is "masculine". I used this fun car image from our sponsor  LeAnn's World 101, called Beattle Bug!
I created a side step easel card. The fun car papers and ephemera are from Echo Park. The "bug" was colored with Copics and Prismacolor colored pencils with a bit of clear gel pen on the headlights. It was popped to the front of the card.

I especially enjoyed doing this as I have more than one lovely memory of times spent with family and friends in the past that had yellow VW's!

Thanks for visiting. I do enjoy reading your comments!

Sending Happy Thoughts

Time for Double Trouble Challenge Blog #29! Brown Bag-It! Using Kraft, adding strawberries, and using a sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday gives us some great ideas to work with.
The digital strawberry, from Jane's Doodles - no longer available, was colored with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens, colored pencils, and Karina Wink pens. They are popped as the final layer. I could hardly believe my luck when I found the strawberry ribbon in my stash to weave through the white die cut! The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps, Tiny Words.

Thanks for your visit. I hope you'll join in with both groups!

Best Buds

Flowers is the prompt for this month's challenge for Paper Smooches. The biggest problem was selecting my favorite floral set from Paper Smooches! I finally chose Best Buds, since I wanted to make a birthday card for a special friend.
I colored the images with Copics then cut out with the matching dies. The sentiment came with the set and was set with some clear embossing powder.  These were popped over the background with foam tape.

The scallop frames were die cut using Honey Bee Stamps dies. The background paper comes from an Altenew paper pack, Reflection.

Finally, I added a paper flower from my stash, some gel pen, and a few Nuvo Drops.

Thanks for the visit. Hope you'll pull out some of your pretty Paper Smooches floral stamps and join us!

May 10 Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Today is the last day of the fabulousSpring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!
The background coffee paper is from a digital paper pack Good Coffee and Happy Vibes from Graciella Design. The tiny pot is from my stash, as is the paper coffee pot. (I wish I knew where it came from so I could give credit, so if you know, please let me know.) The flowers, with some Nuvo drops in the centers, and other papers were edged with Distress Inks. The Mandala Die is from Altenew and cut from Kraft.

What fun this has been seeing everyone's wonderful creations and reading all the sweet things you have said about my cards here, on Instagram, and on Facebook. Thanks to Amy for all her hard work, and thanks to all the wonderful sponsors!

May 9th Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

For the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop, today I used:
Coffee Words Cup from Bugaboo. Check box from My Favorite Things, Perk Up.

Thanks for all the comments you have been leaving along this fun hop. I truly appreciate each one!

Beattle Bug 2

The optional twist this time for Twisted Thursday on the Outlawz, is "Hip to Be Square- Use 3 Squares".  So, these "squares" have a bit of perspective and stretch, LOL! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! (Actually, I was creating several cards at the same time and mixed up my "twists". But, since Twisted Thursday is always an anything goes, I figured it applied to my cards as well.... and that's my story too!)

I again used this fun car image from our sponsor  LeAnn's World 101, called Beattle Bug!
I used some watercolors (Prang) in a rainbow fashion on watercolor paper. Then, I cut out the fun frame with removable inserts by Whimsy, Wonky Window. The  car papers are from Echo Park. The "bug" was colored with Copics with a bit of clear gel pen on the headlights. It was popped to the front of the card. I created the sentiment on the computer as well as the stop sign, also popped.

Thanks for visiting. I do enjoy reading your comments!

Circus with Oddball Art

I was so excited to get right to work on this month's challenge from Oddball Art. Circus! What fun is that? I knew immediately what I wanted to create and went for a search on Pixabay, copyright free images, for what I needed. Then, I added the PNG images, #76 Taffy the Juggling Clown and #75 Casey the Clown right over top and colored with my Copics.
I added a bit of shimmer, clear and white gel pens, and some clear tiny domes over the juggling balls.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Edited to add that I was the #1 winner!

Wing It with Gina K

For the May, 2019, monthly mix challenge for Gina K Designs, the prompt is "Wing It"
I have stacks of Gina K stamps, but I had nothing with wings. It took me a bit to come up with this idea using the beautiful Peaceful Roses set. I colored it with Copics and then die cut it with a butterfly die from Stampendous.

The embossed background folder is from The Paper Studio. I used one of my favorite techniques by rubbing some Gina K Jelly Bean Green over the butterflies on Gina K paper. Then I sprayed it with some sparkle spray.

The sentiment comes from the same set and was heat embossed. I added some faux stitching, some extra leaves from the original cut out butterfly, and and popped the sentiment strip. A round embossing ball on the back of the butterfly created dimension and then I popped only the body portion.

Thanks for your visit. This proves that you don't need to own everything to get the job done. Look at your stash and I'll bet you can join in this challenge too!

May Freebie Digi - Valentine Derek

The Freebie/Progressive Challenge over at the Outlawz offers this fun and dapper gentleman, Valentine Derek, from our sponsor Dr. Digi!
Copic Colors Used

I created a heart shaped card using Little B dies. I added some hearts and a doily die cut, some Nuvo drops, some white and clear gel pen to finish off this card.

Thanks for the visit. I hope you'll pop over to the Progressive group and get your free digi from Dr. Digi!
