Summer Happy Birthday with LOTS of Glitter

Challenge #8 over at Double Trouble, is to do a glittery birthday card. I made a birthday cupcake and then worked in tons of glitter! Another option is to share with Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge, Summer Birthday Party!
The red glitter card base was from my stash. The cupcake die cut is from Vintage tea party, Cherry Cupcake. The banner is cut with a set of Paper Sweeties dies. The sentiment is from Die-Versions, Birthday Present, and the white glitter paper is from DCWV Metallics glitter cardstock.

Thanks for your visit.

Our August sponsor is Imagine That and our fourth optional challenge for Twisted Thursday is Back to School (with primary colors).
For this card I selected the images from the KD School Days set to use on an easel card.  Nothing like the smell of a new box of crayons!

Our August sponsor is Imagine That and our third optional challenge for Twisted Thursday is Back to School (using a school supply).

For this card I selected the images from the KD School Days set.  The Gingham paper is from the Tooty Fruity Papers. The books were fussy cut and popped, as was the crayons circle. My school supplies are brads and staples.

Fading Cheshire Cat

I must admit to being kind of crazy about anything Alice. One of the things that I loved was the idea of the fading Cheshire cat! I just got all my Wonderland stamps yesterday from Visible Image and just had to try to make a Cheshire cat in the process of disappearing.
I created a small rainbow watercolored panel using Prima The Classics watercolors. Then, I stamped the cat with Versafine ink and clear embossed it. I used clear water on a brush and tapped with paper towel to remove the color from inside the stamped image to get the faded cat.

The sentiment, from the same set, was stamped with Distress Oxides and then clear embossed as well. The background panel was also colored with the Distress Oxides and sprayed with a sparkle spray. I punched a hole in order to add a clear ribbon holding an Alice in Wonderland charm. The little Alice comes from Funny Sticker World. The shapes are die cut from Double Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frame from Poppy stamps. And, some Nuvo Crystal Drops added just a bit more interest.

This is the first entry to my new MemoryDex box that will be dedicated to all things Alice. You will see lots more as this box grow, I hope.

Let's Just Color Indoors and Stay Cool

Double Trouble, Challenge #7, is all about the dog days of summer. Thing one asks how you keep cool, Thing Two double dares us to link up with HeARTful Stamping Challenge, and Thing Three asks us to include something we like to eat or drink when it is hot outside. And, Paper Smooches has an anything goes challenge this month, and I'm also doing the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Contest!  I think I've got it all in this one card!

In the hot summer, I just want to stay inside and play with colors! I also need to have a nice cold iced coffee nearby!
I had so much fun creating an easel to paint on. It even has a little ledge on the bottom! I used the Paper Smooches Paint Palette several layers deep so I could add some "paint" (Nuvo Crystal Drops). The painting, Stampabilities coffee cup, on the easel is colored with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. The palette and easel were cut from Stampin' Up wood textures paper stack. The canvas is cut with Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangles, and the sentiment is from TimHoltz Small Talk.

House Mouse Climbing Iris and Hummingbird in Watercolor

This week the option is to add stitching, real or faux, to your entry over at House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.  I selected the Climbing Iris stamp and colored it with Windsor & Newton watercolors on Master's Touch Watercolor paper.  I created an easel card. Using Gina K paper for the card base.
The background was created with alcohol inks. I added a couple of pieces of Washi tape. The sentiment from Wild Rose Studio was embossed with white,  popped for dimension, and a few large white pearls added from my stash.

Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls Tag

I have recently discovered Oddball Art Stamps while Online looking for more "Alice" stamps for my growing collection. There are some really fun images to choose, well not some, a lot (and Alice ones too)! And, they have a monthly challenge, so what's not to love? I selected the image Creepy Cute Girl in Chains Ceecee Image No. 266  to go along with this month's optional theme Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls. As someone who loves dolls and ghoulish things as well, this really appealed to me.
I used my Word program to add the PNG image over the lightened bricks, then colored both with Copics. I cut a tag from it and also from a piece of heavy black cardstock to back it. I added black twine and some flowers from the Small Sweet Peony set from Heartfelt Creations that I embossed on black with white and added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in a color to match her hair and dress.

Thanks so much for your visit. Hope you'll take a look at Oddball Art and join in on the fun. And, I always enjoy reading your comments.

Flowers from Power Poppy

I was able to fit a second card in for this week's Double Trouble , Challenge #6. Thing One asks for something, anything, or everything. Thing Two suggests we add our post to a previous partner. And, Thing Three asks us to decorate the inside of our card. Since The Three Amigos was already closed, I couldn't add this card even though it was embossed. You snooze, you lose, LOL!

These pretty flowers are from Power Poppy. I made them following along with the Kit and Clowder free class then fussy cut them. They are a mixture of Copics, Prismacolor pencils, blending pen, and/or both marker and pencil. The embossing folder is from Tonic, ink from Gina K, and some sparkle pen on the centers and pearls finish the card.
Inside of Card
To add to the INSIDE of the card, I used the same set to emboss on yellow and added the complimentary sentiment. I had one flower left, so I added it to the inside.

Thanks for your visit.

Edited to add that I was one of the top three:

Paper Piecing Trip to Paris

Our August sponsor is Imagine That and our first optional challenge for Twisted Thursday is Vacation/Travel/Postcard. Our sponsor is Imagine That DigiStamp!
For this card I selected the J-aime Paris set. after creating the scene, I copied the PNG image of the table and chairs twice and used the Paper-Red Gingham to paper piece. I also used the paper on some W+9 Clouds. Then, I added some black and white ribbon and a white brad that I colored to make it match the paper.

Donut Hippo

Our August sponsor is Sandra Caldwell from BabyCakesDND. She generously gave us this adorable hippo with a donut to use for the Progressive Freebie over at The Outlawz.

The image was colored with Copics and Prismacolor colored pencils. The oval die cut is from Hero Arts, and the fun card shape is from the Fancy Rectangles Build a Card die set. (The bird, ready to gobble up any crumbs, come from the same set.)

I added a double bow ribbon, letters from the We R Memory Keepers Word Punch Board. The image is popped, and the doughnut was covered with Glossy Accents. The sprinkles were added with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thank you so much for stopping by. If you do not have the free image to participate, just let us know over at the site. Once you do one month, you automatically get the new image to play with the next month!
