Miss Super Star

This month, our sponsor over at Twisted Thursday, is Hetty Clare. The optional twist this time is Corners, Borders, or Framing.
First, I colored the image with Copics. Then, I selected Mini Miss Super Star and created a bright red frame from an old Sizzix die cut. I cut out some additional stars from Quickutz and added a sentiment from a free set that I had gotten in a magazine.

So Fairy Cute

Double Trouble Challenge Blog, with #22, must have been reading my mind! I got a new stamp set from Paper Smooches and was just itching to use it!
With a tic-tac-toe board (middle across is the one I chose), a bit of "magic", and a link to Use Your Stuff, Challenge #348, I was ready to create.

This new set is called So Fairy Cute. I used Copics to color, a bit of dye inks, and some Nuvo Sparkle pen.  It all went on a Stephanie Barnard step die I am feeling the magic!

Loved making this adorable little bear. Hope you'll join in on the fun, and thanks for stopping by!

Center Pop Out Card

Thanks to Stamplorations for such beautiful images to color. I colored the outside image with Copics followed with colored pencils. The inside images, also from Stamplorations, were colored with pencils and fussy cut. The card, Center Pop Out Die is from The Stamp Doctor. And, the papers, edged with Distress Inks, are from Prima, The Archivist.

I used the Framed Roses and Coffee for the front of this card, and the Framed Rose and Cupcake digital images from STAMPlorations/Sherry Russ.

This card folds flat for mailing!

Flower Girl from Hetty Clare

This month, our sponsor over at Twisted Thursday, is Hetty Clare. I just loved this sweet image called Flower Girl! Our optional twist is "Say it with Flowers!"
I used an oval die to cut out a card base, then took a black and white floral design paper from an Altenew Paper Pack, Reflection, and colored the flowers with the same colors that I had used on the image. Both layers were edged with Distress Inks. A few more flowers from my stash joined in on the fun.

Flowers in a Jar

Double Trouble Challenge Blog is asking for flowers for challenge #21. Many of us are longing for spring, so flowers were a joy to color. BZZZZ was also an option, so I added one of my little bee brads to one of the flowers. The sketch, shown below, came from an optional linked challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #303.

The pretty glass jar of flowers is from a set from Paper Smooches, Best Buds, that I colored with Luminance pencils on Kraft paper. The sentiment, embossed with white, came from the same set. The background paper is from My Mind's Eye, Fancy That. All edges were distressed with Distress Inks, and several layers were popped for added dimension.

Thanks for your visit. I love reading your comments!

Party Panda Sends Bear Hugs!

We're still celebrating another good year for Holley. Please read all about it here! Holley's good friend, Sandra Caldwell of BabyCakesDND, has a few images on sale for us to use in a challenge on Holley's blog. We may enter 3 projects. For my third and last entry, I used the Party Panda #2427.

I enjoyed creating my first layered background using the app Procreate. The photos come from Pixabay, a free image site. I started with the "real" photo of a bamboo forest, then I layered a PNG image of a drawn bamboo forest over top of that. The branch was made in that program as well. I sent these to my computer to resize and print. Then, I cut out and popped the branch over the  background so that the little panda had something to sit on!
I added a little tag with a sentiment from Paper Smooches, Chubby Chum Pals, a tiny bow, a couple of leaves from the original stamp set, and a big heart.

Dancing Hippos

We're still celebrating another good year for Holley. Please read all about it here! Holley's good friend, Sandra Caldwell of BabyCakesDND, has a few images on sale for us to use in a challenge on Holley's blog. We may enter 3 projects. For my second entry, I worked with these cute little dancing hippos, Chorus Line Hippos #956.
So, I had in mind to put these cuties dancing in a field of flowers in the sunshine. I should know by now that I just can't plan ahead, LOL! This piece of watercolor paper, brushed with Pebbles Chalks, then gone over with a stencil, Altenew Warped Speed, and embossing ink. (Saw the idea on Gina K's blog recently.) The dancers were popped as well as a couple of the stars (Quickutz, Nesting Starburst). I added a bit of Tonic Shimmer Pen the stars and, of course, the pretty ladies lips (a girl's gotta shine, right?). The sentiment comes from a Tim Holtz Snarky Small Talk.

Hooray for Holley with a BabyCakesDND Image

We're all celebrating another good year for Holley. Please read all about it here! Holley's good friend, Sandra Caldwell of BabyCakesDND, has a few images on sale for us to use in a challenge on Holley's blog. We may enter 3 projects. My first one, a multi-layered side folding card, features Old Lady Present #218, colored with Copics. I added a bit of Tonic Shimmer Pen to some parts for a bit of shine. The sentiment is from a Simon Says set, Tiny Words, that I embossed with white.
I had a nice pile of watercolor papers on my desk that I had used to try out different techniques. I carefully had written what I did for each one, but of course I adhered them down and now I can't read what I did, LOL! (Am I the only one who does these kinds of things?) Some of them used a rubber cement resist. Some used stencils, and all, I think used some Distress Oxides. The die is a set from Darice, Nesting Book Pages.

Thanks for visiting. Be sure to visit Sandra's Etsy shop for this image and Holley's blog to join in on the celebration. Both are linked above.

Lots of Challenge Fun

Today, I'm trying to combine several challenges in one card, LOL! Not easy, but I think I pulled it off. I started off with using my new Distress Oxide sprays that I sprayed over, when dry, with Perfect Pearls Mist. Then I pulled out some heart dies, colored my kangaroo with Copics, hearts with colored pencils, and used my Copic air brush to make some white flowers match.

Double Trouble Challenge #21 calls for flowers and bzzzz. If you look closely at the flowers on the top, you will find a tiny bumble bee!
Then, as an added bonus, we could use a sketch from:
Atlantic Hearts Sketch #302. (Sketch below)
Paper Smooches February Challenge is "hearts" and this adorable little kangaroo, hearts, and sentiment are from A Little Lovin.
Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #23 has some pretty inspiration and I selected the pink and blue color theme as my inspiration. And, finally, lots of coloring on that fun image and the little hearts for:

Thanks for coming by. I hope you will check out each of these fun challenges!

Coral Challenge

This month over at Gina K's challenge, we were asked to use coral. Now I see that I MUST get that coral. I used Peach Bellini, and though very pretty, doesn't have the vibrancy that the Coral Reef has.
I stamped the image, A Beautiful Life, in the peach, then heat embossed it with clear. I watercolored with the same ink using a water brush and some of the ink simply smooched on to my mat. I added a touch of Jelly Bean Green, some Nuvo drops and a bit of Tonic Glitter Gloss over the flowers. Finally, I popped up the butterfly from the same set and added the sentiment, also included in the set!

For the twist, we had to decorate the inside as well. I used the same butterfly, stamped in peach, with the rest of the birthday sentiment.

Red Heart Digi Contest

Sandra Caldwell, BabyCakesDND, has a "Red Heart Digi Contest" going on over at Facebook. I just love anything "Alice", so I selected the Hatter Matters image because of the heart on the tea cup!
Lots of layers and some Gina K, Garden Tour, papers in the background. If you look closely at the little rabbit charm from my stash, you will see that I used Copics to color just the hearts!

If Friends Were Flowers

February's Progressive Freebie Challenge is sponsored by Di's Digis.  The image, Ava, is available to you if you join in on the fun.
I cut four layers of the stained glass die cut from black and heat embossed it with clear to give it a rich shine. The glass portions were colored with Karina Wink and Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. The image was colored with Copics, fussy cut, and placed on a black oval then popped. I printed the sentiment on my computer and simply glued it into place with a few Nuvo drops added.
