Thank You So Much

The June Paper Smooches challenge has a pretty group of colors to choose from when creating your project. I thought these looked lovely together and just had to make a second card for this month.

I used the Wavy Wishes for the sentiment with some white gel pen along the edge, the Botanicals2 for the background, then and added a few Nuvo Crystal drops and twine for texture.

Thanks for stopping by.
I love reading your comments!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

This cute set from Paper Sweeties, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, found its way to my desk and just begged to be colored. I used my Copics, but forgot to take a photo of the colors I used.
This is just about the exact drawing I used to make as a child...probably hundreds of times, LOL! (It's just missing the tree, little girl and her dog that I always added.)

The background was created with Distress Oxides and splattered with the nozzle from Shimmer Spray. I used the matching dies to cut out the images, stamped one of the included sentiments and cut that with a stitched die. Most of the images are popped one or two times. Some Nuvo Glitter Gloss added sparkle and a few Nuvo Crystal drops in red were the final touch.

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments.

Watercoloring with Coffee

So, after I saw someone (sorry, don't remember who since I watch a bazillion videos each week) use dried coffee as a watercolor medium, I just had to try it. I only put a bit of leftover (Well, there's never really any "leftover", is there?) coffee in little containers and waited patiently (yeah, right?) for it to dry. Then I stamped out the pot and cup, Coffee Happy, from Stamplorations onto water color paper and watercolored! What fun. No, mine doesn't smell like coffee. Could I have used brown watercolor? Why yes, but where would be the fun in that?
The yellowish parts are from where I used my waterbrush to pull some of the stamped ink into the image. I used Adirondack Caramel ink to stamp because it's nice to have a little caramel in your coffee. The little stamped beans come from a Fiskars set.

Thank you for stopping by. I'm starting to see all kinds of possibilities in my future, like tea, Jello, Kool-aid, wine? Hope you'll be inspired to play with your food, and let is know of what odd things you might have colored with.

Paper Piecing a Speedy Recovery Wish

This week, the optional twist over at Twisted Thursday. is to use paper piecing.  I used our sponsor, BabyCakes, image called Bearly a Headache. (I can't find it to link it. Maybe it is retired.)

The bandaid comes from a set by Paper Smooches (another one I cannot find to link), the frame is from Penny Black, Antique Frame, and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches Baby Birds.

Butterfly Tags Card

The most fun challenge out there, Double Trouble, added a new challenge (#3). Thing one asks us to use brown, turquoise, and coral (do check out the link above to see the exact colors). Thing two has us added ribbon, or twine. And, Double Trouble is to join in on the colors selected for the Color my Heart Color Dare #297 challenge.

Well, I think I have it all covered here (the colors really do match, in person, the original nutmeg, glacier and sorbet.)
The background was created using a Magic Foam stamp that was impressed with a pile of rubberbands. The tags were colored with Distress Oxide inks in Carved Pumpkin and Blue Lagoon. Then, the bottom tag was splattered with brown and dotted with white gel. The butterflies were cut using Paper Smooches Butterfly Duet. And, a brown ribbon and brown Nuvo Crystal Drops finished the card.

Thanks so much for the visit. I do read your comments and enjoy each one!

A Color Story from Paper Smooches

The June Paper Smooches challenge has a pretty group of colors to choose from when creating your project. I thought these looked lovely together.
I had so much fun playing with different techniques and such with this one. First, I created a background using my own stamps that I made using the Magic Foam and regular kids foam blocks. (Instructional videos available on YouTube.) Then I added the tiny die cut circles using the Dots and Dashes to each layer of papers with the top one being popped. I used my Copics to color up some paper and cut out the Paint Strokes die set. The jar, from Art-C, was stamped with red Stazon and cut from clear acetate. The tag, Inchies, was tied on to the jar. Then I went a bit crazy with Nuvo Crystal Drops in the challenge colors.

I love reading your comments!

Edited to add that I was a winner with this card.

Float Your Boat Hippo

This week, the optional twist over at Twisted Thursday. is to use corrugated cardboard.  I used our sponsor, BabyCakes, image called Float Your Boat Hippo to create an easel card.
The patterned corrugated paper came from Printed Corrugate paper pad - Hobby Lobby, sprayed with Copics, then cut with Simon Says Border Waves die. The  sentiment comes from Paper Smooches Birthday Words. Some Nuvo Crystal Drops were added as well as a bit of white gel pen.

Summer is Iced Coffee Time

Little Acres Creations on Facebook, has a challenge for June called "Summer"! When I think of summer, I know that a big change for me is my coffee becomes "iced" for more hours during the day!
The paper is a shaving cream print. I used an SVG from My Scrap Chick to cut out the cup (with some alterations to make it taller and thinner), then added the words with the new Balloon Alphabet Stamp Set, and the ice cubes from the Cafe Dreamers' set. I stamped with embossing ink and heat set using a white embossing powder. Then, I swiped some dark brown ink over the cup and wiped the excess off over the white embossing. The original paper was popped up over the now dark cup so it is recessed.

Thanks for stopping by.

Give Me Coffee NOW!

This week, the optional twist over at Twisted Thursday. is to create a Tall and Skinny card.  This is something that I seldom think of, and it was really fun to do a card this shape. I used our sponsor, BabyCakes, image called Give Me Coffee Now.
Copic Colors Used
Isn't this the greatest coffee themed image ever? Looks like me when I actually cared about what my hair looked like!
And that sentiment, from C.C. Designs just goes with it perfectly. (It doesn't look like they carry this line from Rhea any longer though.)
The background is a repeat stamping of To Go Cup from Stampabilities that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

Beauty from Bugaboo

This week the challenge over at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog is an anything goes. My favorite! So, combining this with Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge, I selected the digi stamp Beauty to color on Kraft.
I colored the image using Prismacolors, then created a trifold card base using my Scan n Cut with a cut file from My Scrapchick. I had some butterfly paper in my stash that I used to back each panel, then I fussy cut out a few for embellishments along with a few punched butterflies.

Thanks for your visit. I do enjoy reading your comments!

Double Trouble and Three Amigos Challenges Using Catherine Pooler Products

I recently was fortunate enough to be the winner of a Catherine Pooler stamp of approval set through the Coffee Loving Papercrafters on Facebook. It came with several packages of birthday, cakes, party and design type stamps, sentiments, some papers, and an ink pad and MORE! Wow, was that ever a surprise!
Inside

I created a shaker card with the pretty cake stand embossed in white.  I streaked across some different colors of ink over it then added some of the cute cupcakes to the stand. The outer edges were stamped with one of the fun edging stamps that comes with the set. All those great sentiments, balloons, and stars also came with the set.

I die cut (Gemini Jr.) the center portion and the sentiment using Penny Black's Antique Frames. There are so many things in this set that I will never run out of stamps to create new cards in the future!

Last Day - Coffee Lover's Bloghop AND First Day - The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Last day of the Coffee Lover's Bloghop, and I did a simple tag. This is also my coloring for the first day of the Daily Marker's 30 day Coloring Challenge.
This image is from Vera Lane, CupoCat, LOL! I colored it with Copics and added it to a tag that was used to mop up some spilled ink. Along the side, I added some coffee themed Washi tape. On the top left, I added a tiny Coffee stamp from CherryPink.

I was fortunate to have been selected to be an "Ambassador" for Kathy's coloring challenge. That means that I get to leave comments for participants on both Instagram and Facebook on the days that have been assigned to me. I can't wait to see what everyone will be coloring each day for that challenge and will try my best to keep up! Here is all the info and even a photo of yours truly!

Thanks for your visit! So much fun to "meet" many of you along the way! I have so appreciated all the comments that have been left, and am already looking forward to the next Coffee Hop! Hope to see most of you along the way on the 30 Day Coloring Challenge that starts today too!

Color Me Garden

This month, over at the Freebie/Progressive Challenge on The Outlawz, our sponsor is We Are 3 Digital Shop.
Copic Colors Used
This cute image is called Color Me Garden - Flower Delight. And, it was a delight to play with. I resized the main image to fit on a step-up card center and colored with Copics and PrismaColor colored pencils. I also did a crop and mirror image of part of the image for the two side steps. Again, I resized part of the image to make the bottom. The main image is popped up, and I added a few little butterflies, white gel pen, and some clear Nuvo Crystal Drops. Last, I colored part of one of the flowers and tucked under the top of the card.

I so appreciate your visit. If you have time to
leave a comment, I do love reading them.
