Wind Blown Penguin

This week for the challenge over at i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #129, I chose to use both the sketch and the twist. The twist was to use heat embossing. I used a snowflake stamp from Hero Arts and embossed it with clear embossing ink and stamped it on to white cardstock. Then, after heat setting, I went over it with several shades of blue Distress Inks and wiped it with a baby wipe. The three snowflakes are plastic white ones that I sprayed with my Copics in B2. I used thee ribbons to make the stripe in the background that matched the colors of the balloons. This cute little penguin and sentiment come from a set called Wind Blown Penguin.

It's "anything goes" over at The Outlawz' Twisted Thursday! So, you have no excuse not to join us! Our sponsor is Ppinky Dolls and I chose this cute image called "A Gift".

In the Meadow

i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #127 has a really nice sketch to use and/or to have lots of white and use color for embellishment as the twist. I chose to do both. I used the digital set called "In the Meadow". The background is an embossing folder. I colored gently with pale Copics and sprayed the flowers with my Copic air brush. The Merry Christmas comes from Maya Road dies.
The scene is popped up on foam and the whole white panel is popped up with large foam squares.

Christmas Tree Shaped Card

This week's twist for Twisted Thursday, over at The Outlawz, is to have something with wings. I chose this sweet little Christmas Angel,  from our sponsor, Ppinkey Dolls.
I have a brand new Scan n Cut, by Brother, that I used to design a Christmas tree card. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I did two trees that I created and overlapped them. Then, I cut a single one using different paper for the front. I edged that with Distress Inkes and added some Stickles. The image is popped up with foam for dimension.

Playing With Snow

The optional twist over at Twisted Thursday on The Outlawz is to do "paper piecing". Well, that's a new one for me and I had to ask what it was. It simply means to cut out, from different papers, part of the image. Our sponsor, PpinkyDolls, has this cute little girl, Playing With the Snow. I colored her with Copics and then added a sweater, scarf, and ear muffs from patterned paper from Colorbok. The ends of the scarf are lifted with foam tabs. I used the same sweater paper for the base that keeps the card propped open. The big flakes are made with Neon Amplify and the bottom snow and bigger flakes and sentiment are embossed with Snow from Recollections. The white brad is from Recollections and the small snowflakes were stamped with Hero Arts White Ink.

Mouse Balloon, From the Heart

This week i {heart} card sketches w/a tWist is #126, From the Heart. I used both the sketch and the twist. I couldn't resist this cute little mouse with a balloon for the focal point of the card. Can you believe that this image with sentiments is FREE right now? Do hop over and get your own! I used a stencil from Poppy Crafts and my Copic air brush to do the background. The green circle is embossed and then sprayed with the air brush as well. I used the texturing technique on the mouse to make him a bit furry and I fussy cut out the balloon, topped it with Glossy Accents and  popped it up for dimension. The sentiment also comes with this nice set and is popped as well.

Over at From the Heart Stamps the progressive challenge for November has started. I just love this "birdbrain" character! I did side step card and fussy cut the bird. The single ornament, also fussy cut from the original, is popped up on foam and I added a few enamel dots. The sentiment is one of many that comes with the set. I added a bit of Wink of Stella and white gel pen for highlights.

Deedee's November Progressive Challenge - Seal

Deedee's Digis November Progressive Challenge includes this adorable seal. I did an easel card to show off this cutie! I fussy cut the seal and glued him to the snowflake paper and then cut that out as well. The papers come from Hello Winter from Echo Park Paper. The tiny bit of red is a gel pen. Blue snowflakes and decorative dots were added from my stash.  The sentiment was included in the set. For the inside, I created a gift card holder.

Love is in the Air from PpinkydollsArt

This was not an easy challenge for me. I usually use 4 colors to blend and get the contrast I like. The twist for Twisted Thursday this week over at The Outlawz, is "triple play" and use ONLY three colors. Now, I decided to take this quite literally and chose only three Copic markers. I'm sure I could have used different intensities of each color, but I decided to challenge myself to really stick with only the three markers. I used a light blue, medium yellow and olive. For depth, I simply went over some areas several times. I chose the same colors for the background color (Broken China Dystress Ink) and papers. Even the bow is olive.
The image is Love is in the Air and comes from our sponsor Ppinkdolls.

Christmas Greeting Snowmen

This week I followed the sketch given over at i (heart) card sketches, but no twist. I used the adorable Christmas Greeting Snowmen digi stamp for the outside. I fussy cut the image, added to the starry paper and a piece of glitter paper, and then popped them up over the glitter papers that were cut with die cut scallops and arranged as the sketch. A bit of Wink of Stella and some red embellishments finished the front.
I had to use these sweet trees too on the inside. They come as part of a different set called In the Meadow.

Voodoo King

This month the Progressive Challenge over at The Outlawz has a very different kind of a challenge image. I had soooo much fun working on this tag that I made using Voodoo King from SLS Lines.
For the background, I used the Skeleton Lady stamp from Stampendous and the Swirl Border from All Night Media. I edged the tag with wilted violet and black soot Distress Inks and gave it a good spray with Perfect Pearls. I added some clear and white gel pen to the image, fussy cut him out and placed him with some foam tape for dimension. Finally, I added a buckle and some purple lace ribbon.
