i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #127 has a really nice sketch to use and/or to have lots of white and use color for embellishment as the twist. I chose to do both. I used the digital set called "In the Meadow". The background is an embossing folder. I colored gently with pale Copics and sprayed the flowers with my Copic air brush. The Merry Christmas comes from Maya Road dies.
The scene is popped up on foam and the whole white panel is popped up with large foam squares.

Thanks, Jo. It was hard to keep the image as white as I did since I am an intense colorist who usually uses at least a dozen colors to complete an image LOL!
DeleteWhat a pretty card Jean! I love the embossing in the background and those lovely yellow flowers :-) Thanks so much for joining us at From the Heart Stamps in our weekly I (heart) sketches with a tWiSt :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Libley! I enjoyed the challenge!
DeleteSo adorable, love the stamp and the yellow. It is so pretty.

I love all of these snowmen stamps and scenes. I don't really know where the idea of using yellow came from, but it worked LOL!
DeleteThe yellow really pops on your white card, and so unusual for a Christmas Card...but you made it work. I hope some day I get as good in coloring as you. Sorry I don't use copic, I started with ShinHan, but they work well, it's just the user that has some problems with them.
ReplyDeleteWell, Sue, I must be honest. The die cut for Merry Christmas was new and I had played with a piece of yellow cardstock, just because it was within reach, just to see how it worked. When I started this card, I just grabbed it and so "yellow" became the color. I don't know ShinHan. Are they alcohol markers? If so, they work the same as Copics. Lots of videos on Copics to help if that is the case.
DeleteShinHan is alcohol-base markers. With my winning one month, I chose a Copics book on coloring as a reference.
DeleteI just watched a video, on YouTube, that goes over the difference between the two markers. Very similar, so your Copic book will work.
DeleteOh, Jean, I love the yellow and white! Cute, cute, cute image and card! Love the inside as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janet! You are getting me to start thinking about the insides. Well, sometimes anyway:)
