Thinking of You in Water Color

I am in the middle of taking a fantastic class from Online Classes called Clear and Sheer. I have learned so much already. Here is a card that I water colored on Tim Holtz, Ranger Distress Water Color Paper using Distress Inks. The stamp is from Dina Wakley, Scribbly Flowers, and was embossed on to the paper with white embossing powder.
I cut the vellum with Gina Marie Designs Pendant dies, embossed the sentiment from Stampabilities and attached with tape to the card. Then, I ran ribbon through my Xyron and went over where the tape showed. Finally, I added some Crystal sequins from Darice, attached with Glossy Accents.

Fishing Birdbrain

From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #149 offered a sketch and an optional twist to use die cuts. I did both this week. This cutie is called "Fishing Birdbrain" and comes with the sentiment. I used Gina Marie Designs dies.
Did you ever have one of those days when you went nuts with color? Well, birdbrain just was begging for some Copic play today. I also got a bit carried away with the background papers. The top stripped paper has added matching Copic color to help it coordinate a bit more. The image, fish, and sentiment are all popped with dimensional tape. Kind of crazy, but always fun. I love Birdbrain!

Moongirl and Bird

This week the optional twist over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is to pick from a Tic Tack Toe chart. I picked the right column down for brads, ribbon, and tag. I used our sponsor, Ppinky Dolls,  sweet image Moongirl and Bird. The tag was clear embossed with a fasceted stamp from Neat and Tangled. I went over it with Distress Inks and Distress Crayons. The image was die cut with a Circle Die from our sponsor Gina Marie. I edged the circle with Distress Inks as well. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Saying Stuff stamp set.  I added star brads and a big bow that I dyed with Copic markers to match the other yellows. A bit of black random stamping and some gold Stickles drops were added for texture.

For Mom

Andrea Norris, Sheep Skin Designs, created this pretty image for us to use on the Progressive/Freebie challenge over at The Outlawz. I used Gina K stitched circular dies and Darice Nesting Wavy Circles with EP Fine and Dandy paper pad. The background was made with Color Bursts, the center of the flowers is a yellow gel pen. The top center of the flower is popped and the dots were made with a Pearl Pen.

Time to Bloom

I have returned from a road trip all the way across the country from Phoenix with a full week stop in Myrtle Beach and a stopover in Texas with family and friends. It's good to be home and I'm happy to be working on cards again.

This week, I decided to combine the two challenges from From the Heart since I am sooo behind LOL! The progressive monthly challenge has this beautiful set of flowers and sentiments called Time to Bloom. i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #147 has a wonderful sketch to use and a twist of lots of patterned paper. I selected matching papers from My Mind's Eye paper pad called Happy Day. Both the fussy cut images and sentiment were popped up with foam tape. I used a touch of Wink of Stella in gold, popped up a second layer of the tiny blue flowers with Strickles centers, and added a few sequins.

I carried the color scheme inside and the  sentiment is from Stampabilities and is called Single Flower Sentiment.

Forever Friends

The twist this week over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is to use our favorite color. I love all colors, but if pressed, I will choose variations of purple. Our sponsor is Ppinkydolls and I selected the image Forever Friends. I colored the scene with Polychromos pencils and added some fineline Copic Multiliners for clarity. The card base is Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. I had fun doing some really heavy distressing on the layers. For embellishments, I used cork dots, Burlap butterflies, and a gingham ribbon.

Cloud Lily

Our sponsor over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is Ppinkydolls. This sweet little fairy image, Cloud Lily, is perfect for our optional twist of "anything with wings". I used Polychromos colored pencils to work on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, 100 lb. I used Gina Marie stitched dies. The print paper is from The Paper Studio, a Day at the Beach, and the flowers are made with the same paper using a quilling die from Quilled Creations. I filled the centers with Stickles and added some waxed twine to one of the layers.
