BabyCakes Bee a Sunflower Tunnel Card

This week is an "anything goes" challenge over at Twisted Thursday. Our sponsor, BabyCakes, image Bee a Sunflower, was used on both the inside and outside of this tunnel card.

My sunflower just had to be different and be a blue one! I used Heartfelt Creations, Delightful Daisy, for the paper flowers (paper, doodlebug Hello Sunshine pad), with a hello using Paper Smooches, Delightful Greetings.

Thank You So Much

The June Paper Smooches challenge has a pretty group of colors to choose from when creating your project. I thought these looked lovely together and just had to make a second card for this month.

I used the Wavy Wishes for the sentiment with some white gel pen along the edge, the Botanicals2 for the background, then and added a few Nuvo Crystal drops and twine for texture.

Thanks for stopping by.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

This cute set from Paper Sweeties, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, found its way to my desk and just begged to be colored. I used my Copics, but forgot to take a photo of the colors I used.
This is just about the exact drawing I used to make as a child...probably hundreds of times, LOL! (It's just missing the tree, little girl and her dog that I always added.)

The background was created with Distress Oxides and splattered with the nozzle from Shimmer Spray. I used the matching dies to cut out the images, stamped one of the included sentiments and cut that with a stitched die. Most of the images are popped one or two times. Some Nuvo Glitter Gloss added sparkle and a few Nuvo Crystal drops in red were the final touch.

Watercoloring with Coffee

So, after I saw someone (sorry, don't remember who since I watch a bazillion videos each week) use dried coffee as a watercolor medium, I just had to try it. I only put a bit of leftover (Well, there's never really any "leftover", is there?) coffee in little containers and waited patiently (yeah, right?) for it to dry. Then I stamped out the pot and cup, Coffee Happy, from Stamplorations onto water color paper and watercolored! What fun. No, mine doesn't smell like coffee. Could I have used brown watercolor? Why yes, but where would be the fun in that?
The yellowish parts are from where I used my waterbrush to pull some of the stamped ink into the image. I used Adirondack Caramel ink to stamp because it's nice to have a little caramel in your coffee. The little stamped beans come from a Fiskars set.

Thank you for stopping by. I'm starting to see all kinds of possibilities in my future, like tea, Jello, Kool-aid, wine? Hope you'll be inspired to play with your food, and let is know of what odd things you might have colored with.

Paper Piecing a Speedy Recovery Wish

This week, the optional twist over at Twisted Thursday. is to use paper piecing.  I used our sponsor, BabyCakes, image called Bearly a Headache. (I can't find it to link it. Maybe it is retired.)

The bandaid comes from a set by Paper Smooches (another one I cannot find to link), the frame is from Penny Black, Antique Frame, and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches Baby Birds.

Butterfly Tags Card

The most fun challenge out there, Double Trouble, added a new challenge (#3). Thing one asks us to use brown, turquoise, and coral (do check out the link above to see the exact colors). Thing two has us added ribbon, or twine. And, Double Trouble is to join in on the colors selected for the Color my Heart Color Dare #297 challenge.

Well, I think I have it all covered here (the colors really do match, in person, the original nutmeg, glacier and sorbet.)
The background was created using a Magic Foam stamp that was impressed with a pile of rubberbands. The tags were colored with Distress Oxide inks in Carved Pumpkin and Blue Lagoon. Then, the bottom tag was splattered with brown and dotted with white gel. The butterflies were cut using Paper Smooches Butterfly Duet. And, a brown ribbon and brown Nuvo Crystal Drops finished the card.

Thanks so much for the visit. I do read your comments and enjoy each one!

A Color Story from Paper Smooches

The June Paper Smooches challenge has a pretty group of colors to choose from when creating your project. I thought these looked lovely together.
I had so much fun playing with different techniques and such with this one. First, I created a background using my own stamps that I made using the Magic Foam and regular kids foam blocks. (Instructional videos available on YouTube.) Then I added the tiny die cut circles using the Dots and Dashes to each layer of papers with the top one being popped. I used my Copics to color up some paper and cut out the Paint Strokes die set. The jar, from Art-C, was stamped with red Stazon and cut from clear acetate. The tag, Inchies, was tied on to the jar. Then I went a bit crazy with Nuvo Crystal Drops in the challenge colors.

Edited to add that I was a winner with this card.
