Country Style

The optional twist this week for Twisted Thursday over at The Outlawz is an Anything Goes. This week, I used an image from DoveArt Studios called Country Style.
I went for a monochromatic look using Kraft and burlap for the background. The sentiment, embossed with white, comes from a set by Stampabilities. The patterned die cut squares are from Gina Marie Dies.

Scalloped Trifold Card

The optional twist this week for Twisted Thursday over at The Outlawz is Look alike/Two of a kind! Our sponsor, Limited Run, has these wonderful mushrooms called Mushroom 10. I used more than two of these fun images to make this trifold card.

Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens were used for coloring. Nuvo Crystal Drops in white added some texture to the mushrooms. Spellbinders Curved Borders Two added some interest to the tops. Some Hero Arts White Pigment Ink was sponged at the top of the Kraft paper card. And a bit of burlap ribbon, enamel dots, and a white bow finished off the card.

Duck and Cattails Masculine Card

This week, over at Color My Heart Color Dare, the required colors are Slate, Canary, White Daisy, and Eggplant. These colors seemed like good colors to use for a masculine card.
I used my Scan n Cut along with an SVG file from My Scrap Chick called Duck and Cattails to make this very simple card. The patterned paper is yellow and gray. The tops of the cattails are not attached and the duck is popped and edged with an eggplant color to match the cattails. The sentiment was gone over with an eggplant colored sparkle gel pen.

Down on the Farm

The optional twist this week for Twisted Thursday over at The Outlawz is Down on the Farm. This week, I used an image from DoveArt Studios called Horse Head.
The background paper is from Tim Holts, Distress Woodgrain Cardstock. I added some Vintage Photo Oxide Distress inks after I had already taken the photo and splattered with water. He is popped up over the burlap and burlap ribbon.

Happy Spring!

This month, at the Paper Smooches blog, the challenge is Showers. I just got the fun set called Chubby Chums from Paper Smooches.
I colored two of the cute critters with watercolor pencils and popped them up on paper that I colored with Oxide Inks and splashed with water droplets. The umbrellas (popped), rain drops, and sentiment come from Penny Blacks, April Showers stamp set. I masked off the umbrellas to add the rain which was then textured with clear Nuvo Crystal Drops. The clouds, also popped and watercolored with pencils, are from Hearts & Clouds by W Plus 9.

This set from Paper Smooches has three more adorable critters and several sentiments. It even has a tiny paw print and a hugs and kisses symbol! XO

Also shared with:

Mushrooms and Ovals

The optional twist this week for Twisted Thursday over at The Outlawz is Eggstatic Ovals! Well, I have three ovals layered on this card, so lets be ecstatic about that!

Our sponsor, Limited Run, had these wonderful mushrooms called Mushroom 10. I chose to keep them all in browns with the lifting Copic technique to make little circles on them. The background is Tim Holtz burlap, the mushrooms were cut with Paper Smooches Ovals 1 then popped up, the double outer ovals were die cut with a Darice Oblong Doily frame. A simple bow finished this card.

New Challenge from The Three Amigos

There's a new challenge in town! The Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge!
For this first challenge, they are using the Close to My Heart Paper Pack, Some Kinda Wonderful (or this as a color pallet/inspiration). I selected the gray, green, and black for my inspiration. I used the fox and turtle from the Some Kinda Wonderful stamp set, colored with watercolor pencils, and the sentiment from the Share the Love stamp set. The die cut is Regal Borders and Pockets from Heartfelt Creations.
Thanks for stopping by. Do take a look at the new challenge. I truly enjoy reading any comments that you take the time to leave for me!

Congratulations, With a Sweet Hummingbird, Card

The April Progressive Challenge over at The Outlaws has a beautiful image called Hummingbird-n- Morning Glory Flowers by Mary Smith from Create-ful Heart Cards. I love hummingbirds and have a feeder right outside of my kitchen window where I can watch them in all their glory. My coloring doesn't do these gorgeous birds justice, but I loved coloring this all the same.

I used some Tim Holtz burlap for the background of this card. The die cuts come from Gina Marie Dies, the heart was made with Waffle Flower's Rosette Hearts die. The tiny flower is from a Stampin 'up stamp and cut with a matching punch. A bit of Wink of Stella, gold gel pen, white embossed sentiment (Stampabilities), some ribbon and a pearl complete the card.
