Deedee's Digis October Progressive Challenge

Deedee's Digis has a wonderful set (Pumpkin Patch) that you can layer or just use the completed picture to color. I used Patch for October's Progressive Challenge. The scene was colored with Copics, trimmed with Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside dies and embellished with bit of white gel pen and Wink of Stella I added some leaves (Darice Dies) that I made from paper with Color Bursts (popped a couple for dimension), and added a bit of twine. The card base is an orange from Recollections and topped with a yellow embossed piece to which the scene was attached. I added a few leftover leaves inside the card as well.

Flower Bird

It's the last week of the month and so we have an anything goes over at Twisted Thursday on The Outlawz. I chose this sweet little bird from our sponsor, Bugaboo, called Flower Bird.

I used an embossing folder with a round diffuser which I then painted the raised butterflies with watercolors. I also used my Copic air brush to fill in the remaining background circle in blue. The image is raised with some foam tape. The quilled flowers that I made were sprayed with the Copic air brush as well, and I added some yellow dots to the centers. Everything is edged with Distressed Inks in a variety of blues.

Ppinkydolls Another Gift Side Step Card

This adorable image, called Another Gift by Ppinkydolls, came free from the Progressive Freebie Challenge over at The Outlawz. Do stop by and find out how to get next month's free image.

I used Copics to color her and added some Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. The sentiment is embossed and the back layer of this side step card is an embossed Christmas Tree with Distress Inks, Gold Wink of Stella and Strickles for the red balls and tree star. A bit of ribbon and a bow finish off the card.

Young Gardner Gate Folded Card

This image is from Just Inked and called Young gardener. The card uses a gate fold. I used my Copic markers and added some clear, silver, and gold Wink of Stella for some bling.

Favorites and Choices

It's always fun to make cards using your favorites. Be it a favorite stamp, papers, embellishments, type of fold, color, and so on. Sometimes, trying to pick a favorite is difficult for me as I love it all. Even my favorite color can change from day to day. So, this week's twist over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday was a bit of a challenge for me. A "favorite!"

Red is usually my favorite color (sometimes lavender, sometimes yellow, but never green), and my favorite paper is polka dotted (sometimes floral, steampunk, textured). I love to use diecuts, and eyelets, and layers.......Sigh, so you can see how difficult this was for me LOL! This little sweetie was colored with Copics.

Finishing Touch by House Mouse

This is my last post as a guest designer on House Mouse& Friends. I had so much fun and I appreciate the opportunity to be part of a fabulous design team for even a short time.

This adorable stamp is called “Finishing Touch” and it reminds me of decorating gingerbread men with my boys when they were little.

Outlawz Sunday CAS with and Owl and Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things

This is my final week as a guest designer over at the Outlawz CAS (Clean and Simple) Sunday challenge. I really have enjoyed being part of a design team and hope that one day I will have the opportunity to do so again. This week's challenge was to use a button as the focal point of our card. The first thing that I thought of was an owl winking. Not finding one, I had to just draw one myself.

Then, not completely sure that my owl was drawn that well, I decided to use some button papers and this simple little girl from Pure Innocence by My Favorite Things and do a second one. I forgot to take a picture of the colors used on this one though :( The Outlawz team decided to post both :)

Little Garden Sally from Art by Mi Ran and Mojo Monday #360

I just love this Little Garden Sally with the watering can from Art by Mi Ran and decided to combine her Anything Goes with the Mojo Monday challenge. I added an embossed tree to one side, a black die cut to the left, the ribbon is kind of see through with little flowers and the topper to the button I made myself with a Pearl Pen.

Continuing this month as a guest designer on the Outlawz CAS (Clean and Simple) group I enjoyed working on this weeks prompt, using one of the many ways we use to say hello. Since my husband is originally from Texas, I had to use this whimsical stamp from Mo Manning.

Outlawz Friday Color Challenge with Mo Manning Stamp Ragged Romeo

This week on the Outlawz Color Challenge, we were given a specific pallet to use. I have been itching to use this pretty little Mo Manning stamp called "Ragged Romeo". I thought these colors would work with this stamp. What a battle to attach the lace to the side. Nothing wanted to stick to the lace and paper. I finally used micro glue dots and that held. I also didn't have any cardstock for the card in the right colors so I pulled out my Copic air gun and just did it myself. I went around the white of the stamped image with VersaMagic in Plumeria. The flower has a foam popper on the back and a few pink pearls finished up the card. Your comments are always appreciated. Thanks for looking :)

Friendship - Outlawz Challenge with House Mouse Berrying Gifts

 

Sunday is National Friendship Day. Humm, didn't know that, but I do love my friends. (And, I count my dear readers as friends too!) I learned about this from the Outlawz Challenge where they asked for friendship-oriented projects. I happen to love the Stampendous House Mouse stamps and this one, Berrying Gifts, really spoke to me about the sharing and giving aspects of friendship.

I added some clear gel on the berries to make them glisten and some gold gel on the inside of the raised word, friends. Copics used below.

Stampendous "Gifts to Tie" for the Outlawz

Over at The Outlawz' Friday Coloring Challenge we were asked to to and anything goes card with the option of a Christmas twist. Well, this was another opportunity to get some of those Christmas cards going. I had a new House Mouse, Gifts to Tie, stamp from Stampendous that I was just itching to use. Snow is Stampendous Chunky white embossing enamel. I also had another chance to some of my handmade dots.

Copic Pallet Blending Technique

Stampendous Cling Bowl Bouquet

On Friday's Coloring Challenge for the Outlawz Challenges, we were asked to use a specific pallet with 6 specific colors. This was a bit of a challenge and I decided that I should use the pallet blending technique with my Copics.
The technique worked best with the colors that usually would not blend with Copics. I used a piece of acetate and scribbled on some BG75 and BG 72 then used the Rll to swipe through them and apply the color. Put this down where you want it dark and keep circularly blending outward to get this to work. If you've never tried this method, it is a lot of fun. Do practice, as you can see on the photo below to get it down. I used this method on the roses.

At the Beach with Sami, Copics, and the Outlawz

The Outlawz Challenge for Friday' Coloring group was to do something about the Beach/Pool. I didn't have a stamp that I could think of to use for this (and, the pocketbook was empty) so I dreamed all night (I often do this, anyone else?) about different things I might be able to draw on my own. So, I thought of a crab and got to work this morning drawing this little guy (Sami) and his environment "on the beach." I used my Copics to color, added some chunky white embossing enamel for the waves and a white paint pen for the lower waves.  The background paper is from "a day at the Beach" from the Paper Studio. I popped the umbrella up with a foam square. The shells are buttons.

Mummy Dog and My First Outlaw Challenge

Another new site and more challenges! Fun stuff. I became a member of The Outlaw Challenges and already joined a group called "Sunday's Clean and Simple." Well this certainly was a challenge for me because I am just learning to layer. So, back to the basics. I'm not sure how "simple" these have to be. I looked at the design team's work and see up to 6 items, so I should be safe :)

Since the theme is "dogs", hot or otherwise, I went on an Internet search for a digital stamp. I found a great site, Meljens Designs and found this Mummy Dog. On sale even! I used a die punch from Sizzix for the only real embellishment and airbrushed it a matching green.

Cards with House Mouse from Stampendous

I have taken a couple of classes from Jennifer Dove at our local shop, Scraps of Love. She is a great teacher and has come up with some really fun compositions for the Stampendous House Mouse line. Here are a few that I completed using my Copic markers:
