Sunny Days

#34 for the Double Trouble Challenge Blog is a Free-for-All Challenge so we can have fun creating with "Some Thing", "Any Thing" and "Every Thing".

Thing 3 is in a sunny mood, so some sunshine or rays would be nice to add, and we can join in with a previous partner for even more fun.

I selected to add this to the Retro Rubber Challenge #116  using the tic-tac-toe of green, texture, and nature. My flower stamps and "sun" are from Paper Smooches and are about two years old.

Paper Smooches also has a challenge this month for school or words, so I thought I'd share this with them as well using a sentiment.

I used a piece of photo paper, sprayed with a resist spray (glue and water, thank you, Lindsay from the Frugal Crafter!), then used some Distress Oxides over top. I then stamped with StazOn and added a bit more subtle color with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. The texture is the backing piece of corrugated cardboard.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Jean - I have to "wet my plants" every morning, but it does not excite me, just another farm chore! I was getting worried when I didn't see you in the first spot this week, but see that your card is full of fun techniques. Thanks for joining us at Double Trouble and so glad you'll be dropping in for a visit again soon!

    1. Almost didn't make it, Tracey. Doctors and company sure interfere with one's creative fun, LOL! Thank you!

  2. You're always so clever and love that sentiment and wasn't sure when or how I was going to use it. And you completely surprised and teased me when I saw sunburst oxides on Facebook, I thought for sure I'd see them on DTC, and I did but not the one I expected...they were all gorgeous. You have so much fun playing around, I just don't have enough time...lol. I need a partner in crime, maybe come out here for a weekday. Love your card and how you created your sunshine and scene...beautiful. And thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble.

    1. Just a bit behind this time with everything, Sue. Wasn't sure I'd even make it this week, but finally I was able to. It was so great to just play for a bit with some sunbursts for your blog challenge. Thanks!

  3. Your spray resist background is really effective and is a technique I've not come across before. I'll have to store that one away for future reference. :-)
I like your bright colours and outline garden and well, who doesn't love a good pun?! Thanks for joining in with us at Retro Rubber Challenge.
