Sweet Pea
Twisted Thursday, over at The Outlawz, has an anything goes this week. This little "Sweet Pea" comes from our sponsor, Stitchy Bear. I made an easel card, die cut out the image with Little B Scallops, and popped it up on some fun foam. I sprayed some quilled flowers in a matching pink, added some die cut leaves, and popped up a sentiment.

Watercolor for Cardmaking
Here's something a bit different for you to look at. I am taking part of and online water color class for cardmakers. These cardmaking classes have all been very informative and fun. If you're looking for inspiration, they are well worth the cost.
This is the first one that I did. It was to learn blending. I also learned that I really should spring for some "real" watercolor paper LOL!
The second one was used to make a card. I used sticky backed foam sheets cut to size for the backing to keep the paper from buckling, and adhered it to the cardstock. I only used two colors, Cadmium Yellow Hue and Cadmium Red, both from Winsor Newton, Cotman water color tubes. The sentiment is a Simon Says die cut that I did in two colors. Finally, I added some stitching lines in dark blue and a few dark blue dots.
Thanks for stopping by. I'd love constructive comments to encourage me to improve with my water coloring!

From the Heart Sketch # 136 - Kitty and Heart
From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #136 offered
a sketch and an optional twist to add Shabby Chic or Vintage. I chose to do
both. I selected this free sweet little kitty image, Kitty and Heart, as my friend is adopting a new cat today. She will name her Lily. Isn't that such a pretty name?
I used Copics in R00-11-21-83, and W0-1 and 2. I used the texture, with terry cloth and blending solution, technique on the cat. I added some punched lace on the sideways twisted piece of paper and some vintage lace from Marianne designs under the kitty. Tattered Rose Distress Ink was added to the white paper edges and a flower from BoBunny completes the card.

Snowman Hugs in the Meadow
From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #135 offered
a sketch and an optional twist to add some nature. I chose to do
both. I selected this sweet and loving couple called "Snowman Hugs", and trees from another set called "In the Meadow".
The orange stripes paper is from Recollections. The paper behind the trees is from a woven embossing folder that was covered with Distress Points and sprayed with Chalkboard paint, I added some Stampendous chunky white embossing enamel for snow. Distress Inks were used for edging and a few die cut and punched hearts finish the card.

Cat Mail from Stitchy Bear
The optional twist over at Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is to use our favorite card shape. I love so many different card shapes and love to try new ones. That being said, I think my "go to" is an easel card. I used this sweet silhouette called Cat Mail from our sponsor, Stitchy Bear. The floral background is cut from a SVG file from Sherri Baldy. The image and sentiment are edged with Black Soot Distress Ink and both are popped up with foam for dimension.

Apple Blossom Birds
From the Heart, i {heart} card sketches w/ a tWiSt #134 offered a sketch and an optional twist to use dots and stripes. I chose to do both. I selected this adorable bird couple called Apple Blossom Birds. The striped and dotted papers come from a 6X6 pad from Echo Park called Fine and Dandy. The edges were sponged with Carved Pumpkin Distress Inks and the image and sentiment (come with the set) are popped up.

Snowlady and Cardinal
I created this card using this week's sketch from i {heart} card sketches with a tWiSt # 133, From the Heart. This image is Snowlady and Cardinal, and is currently on sale for only $1.00! This week, I used the sketch but not the other option which was to use only black/white/ and one other color. I just couldn't imagine my snowlady living in a black and white world LOL! The sentiment comes from a different set called Cozy Kittens and is part of the Progressive Challenge also going on at From the Heart.
Red paper from Bazzill, Green paper from Echo Park Paper, Simple Life, edges in Walnut Distress Inks, drops of Copic Opaque White on the eyes, some Wink of Stella, and a few sequins finish off the card.
Thank you for stopping by. I truly enjoy reading your comments!

Yikes It's 2016!
Happy New Year everyone! Yikes (the name of this cute image from our sponsor, Stitchy Bear) it's hard to believe that it is already 2016! Our twist this week, over at Twisted Thursday on The Outlawz, is to add pets or animals.
The background paper is from the Hello Winter by Echo Park Paper pack. I added some Stickles over the pre-printed snowflakes. the large layered snowflakes were made using a SGV file from Sherri Baldy that I cut with a Scan n Cut, sprayed with matching Copics, and popped up with foam tape. The penguin's beak, flippers, and eyes were touched up with a bit of Wink of Stella. The upper part of him is popped with foam so he can slide behind the snowflake strip.
The inside has a strip of coordinating paper that I cut with a Martha Stewart edge trimmer.

Cabbage Roses from Sandi Samples
The Outlawz January monthly Progressive Freebie Challenge offered this beautiful digital image from Sandi Samples called 58 Cabbage Roses. I love coloring flowers and wanted to make them look like the flowers we had in our backyard when I was growing up. I used the pallet blending technique on the flowers and then let my ScannCut fussy cut them out. I used a embossing folder that I had applied Distress Inks to for the background. Then I took the same folder and did another with plain white and used a die to cut out the oval shape. I used the same ink on the edges. The white one is popped up with foam. The bow was colored with my Copic air brush as were the small flowers on the bottom left. A couple of pearls and a touch of Wink of Stella on the roses and it is complete.
