C.C. Designs, by Jennifer Dove, Cardinal With Some Flowers

I loved this Cardinal stamp the moment I saw him. He is a design by Jennifer Dove for C.C. Designs. I used the colors suggested by the Outlawz' Friday Color Challenge from Design Seeds. The flower stamp comes from Viva Las Vegas Stamps where I recently had the pleasure of pouring through tons and tons of stamps. Used ones were only $2.00 each!

I used Copics R 46-49, YR 18, Y 0000-02-05, YG 01-11, G 43, W1-5-7 and 100 (Black). White Signo Uni-ball white for eyes, a splash of Wink of Stella on the flowers, and Peeled Paint Distress Ink for edges.
Purchases from my recent trip to Viva Las Vegas Stamps and The Crafting Place!

Think Pink for Cancer Awareness Month

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, several sites are asking for cards done in this vein. I'm sure most of us have friends and/or relatives who know how important this is and how we should do for ourselves and encourage others to do their self-exams and have regular mammograms. Think PINK everyone!

 Copics used: R81-83-85m E23-29, and W1

Celebrating World Postage Day with a Meljen's Design

Over at the Outlawz Friday Coloring Challenge, the prompt was "World Postage Day"! I really had to think hard on this one. It is getting more and more difficult to find stamps that I already own for challenges and, well, the budget does slow me down a little (very little actually, but enough is enough sometimes HAHA).
I really had a lot of fun with this one. I used a stamp from Meljen's Designs and, after coloring it with my Copics B63, BV17, BV13m YR16, and BG000 (just had to use my new Hydrangea Copic. I LOVE the color). Then, I made a small white envelope. You could really put your own little letter to a friend when you're ready to send it. The letter will slide in and the flap will close for fitting the completed card into a larger envelope. I also cut carefully around the heart and made some little letters that stick out so it looks like the birdies are delivering the mail. The top portion of the birds and the sentiment are popped up. Some greens, a few orange dots, and all ready to go into the post.
Entered in Crafting with Dragonflies also.

Alice in Wonderland with a Sweet Pea Stamp

Who could resist an Alice in Wonderland challenge? Not me. I LOVE anything Alice, but I had to search to find a "dark" version. (I used to play the computer game of Alice that was wickedly evil!) Anyway, I found this one at Sweet Pea Stamps. I also added some Sakura Gel in clear to her bow, eyes, and lips. Love that stuff! It adds just a touch of shine.

CAS - Clean and Simple Celebrate YOU!

The Outlawz, CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge was to do a Fall Wedding card. I wanted to play with my airbrush, so I did a white piece of cardstock with a YG25 Copic. Then, I cut out an oval and did an embossed (Zing Leaf) sentiment. I stamped three leaves and colored with YG25, YR16, YR27 and E99 then added some Wink of Stella. Finally, three little dots and a swish around the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. CAS, nice and simple!

House Mouse Fall Float, CAS Merry Christmas

Mojo Monday, 365, had a tall and skinny design. I really didn't like the solid topper so I softened it with just leaves and my own melted bead accent. Instead of three descending banners, I did Merry Christmas in that space in the same kind of downward motion. So, I think I stayed within the spirit of the design.

A Facebook group for House Mouse Lovers asked for a card with a pumpkin. I don't have any stamps with my little mousies that have a pumpkin, so I just added a pumpkin and some leaves to Fall Float.
The pumpkin and the little guy are on foam lifts and the "HI" circle is edged with gold glitter glue.
