I decided to go Steampunk with a card, just for fun. I used an embossing folder, papers with clocks (some cut and popped up), and Distress Inks to put this together. All it needs is the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, LOL!

LOVE this card, Jean! I have a "thing" for clocks when crafting and I adore how you used them here. The paper you embossed has so much texture; did you "treat" that paper or is that the way it is printed?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katrina. The white paper was embossed and then I used Distress paints and buffed.
DeleteFabulous Steampunk card, Jean! I love all the texture and distressing!
ReplyDeleteI'm really fond of anything Steampunk, Janet. Just never have the opportunity to use it, so this anything goes gave me the chance!
DeleteI also love the Steampunk look. I'm so eager to learn how you did this look. Do u have a Utube page, where u show how you achieved this technique. I'd love to have ago myself. I've wanted to learn different ways of using Distress Inks as I'd like to start buying the collection, but as they are expensive I'd like to know various looks that can be achieved before I start collecting them. I'd hate to buy something that I either wouldn't use or know how to use properly to get the best from them. Thank you x
ReplyDeleteI do not have a YouTube page, Vanessa, as my video skills are really poor. Do watch some of Tim Holt's videos to learn more about how to use Distress Inks, http://rangerink.com/category/videos/all-tim-holtz-videos/
DeleteOr, if you're willing to spring a bit of money, my favorite classes are from Online Classes http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/
Tim Holts has a series there explaining everything about his products. But, my favorite classes are the ones with Jennifer McGuire and her buddies!
