A Sunburst with a Sundae

This is my last week as a guest designer for Deedee's Digis. I certainly have enjoyed working with such nice images. If you have not yet looked at the images available, please do so. She has some lovely sets. This week, I chose the set called A Little Something. This set includes a cake, cupcake,  papers, and sentiments besides this fun ice cream sundae! I used a die cut to cut out the image and raised it with foam over the paper sunburst that I made for the background from cutting two different papers from Nana's Kids Mat Stack. I used Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder with a sprinkle of glitter over the whipped cream. The cherry has Glossy Accents for dimension and there is a bit of Wink of Stella over the rest.

Christmas Cookies Card for Deedee's Progressive Challenge

This month, the Progressive Challenge from Deedee's, has a very useful set of baskets all set for lots of occasions. You will find a Christmas basket all ready to color; however, Christmas cookies are very important for everyone in our family. I have four grown boys and four grandchildren, and now even a great grandson. Everyone, including my daughter's-in-law, love the cream cheese cookies. So I colored and fussy cut out the empty basket, added some snowman cookies and peppermint candies from other Deedee's sets and popped them all up on foam tape. The background is made with Color Bursts, a powder that you make "burst" with water. The sentiment is from the Deedee's set for August too. A piece of red ribbon and a candycane from Jolee's Boutique all on top of a blue glitter card finish up this Christmas card.

A message from Deedee: "We are celebrating our birthday this month by offering the Christmas basket image from this set on our blog to anyone who wants to join in the challenges. This is what we call a "free-for-all" challenge, to give anyone who hasn't been able to buy the initial set the chance to get started with the one image." (As long as you continue to participate each month, the next image will be free as well!) It's not too late to join in on the fun!

Happy Birthday Cat Easel Card

This week, the optional twist for Twisted Thursday, The Outlawz, is "animals." I got this cute little kitty from Bugaboo, who is our sponsor this month. It is called Critter Sign It Cat. I used Clean Color Real Brush markers from Zig. I love how bright and bold they are. The flowers, for this easel card, were made with the Garden Favorites Quilling Dies from Quilled Creations and sprayed with Copics.

Little Birdie for Deedee's Digis

Week number three as the guest designer for Deedee's Digis and I have selected this adorable blue bird with a flower as my image. This set has several images and sentiments to choose from. Do take a look at this set, Little Birdie. As you can see, I chose to make him a "big" birdie! I also printed out the flower part twice, fussy cut it and used a foam square to add one on top of the other and get some nice dimension. I added some die cut leaves, dots, and a puffy little ladybug for fun.

Two Roses on a Tri-fold Card

This week over at The Outlawz, Twisted Thursday has an optional twist of adding a flower. I did a tri-fold card with a design punched edge. The image flowers are from Bugaboo, called Two Roses, and I made several sizes to color. The bigger flowers are die cut. Do come on over and join in on the fun. You must have some flowers somewhere in that giant stash of yours, yes?

Wishful Asha

There is a progressive challenge going on over at The Outlawz, and this month's image, Wishful Asha, comes from Make It Crafty. Isn't she a doll? I used one of my backgrounds that I made while taking the Online Class, Background Check, cut with Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts and colored with Distress Inks. The butterfly die cut is Kensington Border from Memory Box. The image is popped up with foam strips. I added some Wink of Stella here and there, and used some Glossy Accents on her eyes and shoes.

Hamster in a Cup

I am very pleased to be a guest designer for Deedee's Digis for the month of August. I chose this adorable image from the Coffee Cup Greetings collection, to make my card for this week.
I embossed on watercolor paper and went over it with some Distressed Inks. I die cut an opening to put the hamster behind, added a die cut and colored patterned oval and a couple of Copic airbrushed flowers to finish this simple card. The texture on the hamster was made with bumpy cloth and some Copic blending solution.
