I am sorry that I must not have taken a photo of the colors I used for this one. I can tell you that the snow is Chunky White Embossing Enamel from Stampendous. I added a few stamped white snowflakes along the top, some snowflake embellishments as well as a die cut of leaves with some red dots in two sizes.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue. Yes, I love that embossing powder too. I also NEED some red HAHA!
Deletequestion from newbie here; love the card, need to see if I can find the stamp & also
ReplyDeleteI am on the hunt in small town / British Columbia, Canada for supplies.
can you tell me about the DOTS: are these stickers or what, and the actual name ...
if I cant find them local , I may have to go a larger center/city a few hrs away... but well worth the drive for supplies.
I have made some holly cards up and think these dots would be perfect to use as the red berry parts in the center.
Hello Cher, and thanks for coming to visit my blog. I am always happy to answer questions and help someone find things. I can be quite the enabler HAHA! I used my Internet search engine to look up craft stores near British Columbia in Canada and came up with several Michael's stores. I buy most of these kinds of embellishments there. They will be where the stickers are for scrapbooking, and are self-adhesive dots of enamel or plastic. They come in tons of colors and some different shapes too. You can also make your own from the small beads that are used to make childrens' fusible toys. Check out this older post of mine: http://tanglestreetcolorway.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2014-07-19T11:40:00-07:00&max-results=7&start=42&by-date=false
DeleteGood luck!
Thanks for the information... went to the local Paper, Thread & Quilting store this am, am pleased to say came out with 6 new stamps, 5 of the house mouse xmas ones and other Xmas themed one. This store just opened here in September, 10 years ago they had a different store which sold a varitiy of gift items and did carry some card making items.. when they closed it down because Carol (the owner) wanted a break; I brought a LOT of card stock for pennies each and a few stamps..which has just sat in my crafting room, using a few sheets here and there>> They did not have the chunky embossing powder but have ordered some in for me, this is in case I dont make it over to the larger towns, that have a Michael's store there, either 2 hrs east of us Or 1 1/2 hrs west of us this weekend..
Deleteand when I am there, going to look for some of those Cool RED DOT's to use as Holly berries on the ones that I am in the process of making for the our staff Christmas dinner favors- I am making 8 different cards x 6 peeps,as give aways/thank you\s...
some of the cards are very easy ones and the last 2 will be more "embellished". The problem I am having is, that sticking to a pattern, thought,plan, idea, cuz then I think, oh I can do that instead... so I have deceided until I get the new items, embossing powder, ink, dots, ( and whatever else I find-cant seem to go into a Micheals store with out at least spending $100- good thing I only go couple time a year!) I am not going finish the 6 I have sitting there ready to be put together, in case I do have to go to plan b
.LOL
Also; need to find to buy some flesh colored felts, any recommendations on what type to took for;
Deletewhat did you use here Jean?
It sounds like you had fun. Don't you just love those House Mouse stamps? I wish I had ALL of them LOL! Another option, instead of the dots, is to use a red gel pen, tiny red paper circles, or just colored red paper circles and then drop some Glossy Accents on top. It will dry raised and shiny. I'm not sure what "felts" are, Cher, so I can't answer that question. More info please :)
Deletelove the house mouse, probably will be looking for more..hahhaha...
Deletefelts here are colored marker pens, I also have some Staedtler watercolor pencils that I have used. but they dont have a flesh colored tone in them..so that is why I am looing for suggestios on what to look for/buy
Ahh, felts, makes sense. There is a chart that shows you the "official" colors of the different mice and their flesh colors. http://stampendous.cust.shopatron.com/Welcome+Video/Color+the+Mice+with+Copics/1797
DeleteYou can try mixing a light yellow and pink for flesh with your colored pencils with brown as the darkest then blend with a stump and blend with odorless mineral spirits or baby oil. (try this on a separate paper until you get the mixture right though.) Color very lightly and then add layers until you get the color you want before blending. I can't wait to see your mice!
I use Copics, but do know that they are expensive and addicting. But, for me, they are worth it. I love what I can do with my Copics.
Do Copics come in a package or sold by item? I dont mind paying for things that are worth it & can you buy these at Michaels;
Deleteas we are off to the big city tomorrow.
Thanks for the link for the mouse house color chart
Soooo darn cute Jean !!
ReplyDeletehugs Diane xx
