I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's over three years ago and it put me into quite a spin. I needed a drastic change in my life, so hubby and I picked up what we could from the overcrowded Phoenix area and now live on a small ranch in rural Texas with our three dogs, three birds, one indoor cat, 5 barn cats, 4 sheep+babies, and chickens. I only make cards now for family so I do not post here. I still color but the card making part isn't enjoyable for me any longer. We didn't have reliable Internet for over 2 years so I couldn't keep up with any of my groups. We do have Starlink now, but I've gotten into different, more solitary kinds of things.</p><p>I do have a new blog (that, for some reason Google can't seem to recognize) that I was hoping would be helpful to anyone who is dealing with Alzheimer's, dementia, or any other life changing event. I'm a fighter and I truly believe that is why I'm still kicking. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBK0-17xgmx7vp4p6yYPcLIWJvApF7nV3Rx4hUDwxyCRqSCcKFJbsImGhvNn09vOBMuvh42t1I0v8KMlyUTxFDPy-gDFdsRGzYKk-YPxXkUw3zynD80j2mbXj__sNC-IWi0TBeCvHR88wlVTErC6l1959x5HV4MpdbodomeZWP2Z6YszNAfH1VkV5nRd4/s1212/Jean%20with%20card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1212" data-original-width="816" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBK0-17xgmx7vp4p6yYPcLIWJvApF7nV3Rx4hUDwxyCRqSCcKFJbsImGhvNn09vOBMuvh42t1I0v8KMlyUTxFDPy-gDFdsRGzYKk-YPxXkUw3zynD80j2mbXj__sNC-IWi0TBeCvHR88wlVTErC6l1959x5HV4MpdbodomeZWP2Z6YszNAfH1VkV5nRd4/w134-h200/Jean%20with%20card.jpg" width="134" /></a></div>If you would like to visit, I'd love the company over at: <a href="https://misadventuresinalzheimers.blogspot.com/">https://misadventuresinalzheimers.blogspot.com/</a><p></p><p><br /> <br /></p>jeanchaneyazhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12444143832714907759noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8747025881957563264.post-81133621141958965542020-12-02T15:41:00.002-07:002020-12-02T15:41:32.641-07:00Let it Snow<p>Time for another Double Trouble: <a href="https://doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com/2020/11/challenge-72-something-anything.html" target="_blank">Double Trouble Challenge Blog #7</a><a href="https://doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com/2020/11/challenge-72-something-anything.html" target="_blank">2.</a> Something, everything, anything, and optional snow are the challenge requests. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/898390587/christmas-gnomes-digi-slimline-card?ref=shop_home_feat_4&bes=1" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="859" data-original-width="1827" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIxhXzS8gSW5Ga34XsF6_WQvhneb6dJxk46Ca3nwpLcMKQMN5_SOI407Td6-DG8CdfxccFjxNvvPtK1nbbUzTRGJHtSrLETv_ipdycOtPOceFnDWkAkoNaGgjTvpugq7xCQWF2JkIoMJU/w640-h300/%252372+Snow.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/898390587/christmas-gnomes-digi-slimline-card?ref=shop_home_feat_4&bes=1" target="_blank">Pulling out the Alex Syberia Designs Gnomes</a> again as I think they are so cute!. Right now, I’m limping along in my new craft room that is less than half of what I had before and so cluttered and disorganized that I have no idea where anything is, LOL! Hopefully, things will improve as we continue to open the enormous number of boxes that came from Arizona to our new home in Texas.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRmBqS_jkVl0IiImmXRrVxk3ubthy-HM413rJ1rovGWITwkEYx7J68VNRpfYLckgrLOUR-RtKwwyhY0oh31WysJri-GA3p7Z2EeDN9KQdUqZ6O5EYEI82-SMEI-iLbA_OtR-22Z3oVskE/s1939/New+House+Tommy+and+Melinda.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="820" data-original-width="1939" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRmBqS_jkVl0IiImmXRrVxk3ubthy-HM413rJ1rovGWITwkEYx7J68VNRpfYLckgrLOUR-RtKwwyhY0oh31WysJri-GA3p7Z2EeDN9KQdUqZ6O5EYEI82-SMEI-iLbA_OtR-22Z3oVskE/s640/New+House+Tommy+and+Melinda.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>Totally loving the long/tall format. Our nephew and his sweetie purchased a new home so I had to at least try to put something together. I used the Simon Says set <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps-HOME-SWEET-HOME-sss202087-sss202087?currency=USD">Home Sweet Home</a> and colored pencils. <p></p><p>All of my die cuts are still hiding from me, so my cardmaking is really limited. Can't promise much until I find all of my supplies and find a way to add them to the new space in a way that I can find them. This card took way too many hours as each item I needed was not where I thought it should be! And, for those of you who complain when it takes a few moments to download something.....we have no option but to use satellite in our new home, meaning sometimes you can't download at all since connections often time out. It takes over 24 hours to back up my phone/iPad, and I can't send things with attachments. Goodby Netflix unless you're willing to spool for over a minute every other minute. Some adjustments will be made and I'm not sure how this will affect my online interests. Any suggestions from anyone who has dealt with this themselves will be more than welcomed. </p><p>Nice chatting with you again, my friends!<br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>jeanchaneyazhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12444143832714907759noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8747025881957563264.post-83072407682773205202020-05-21T00:30:00.000-07:002020-05-21T00:30:03.941-07:00Pearls and Lace - Junk JournalThe optional twist for <a href="http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/prismaandothermediums">Twisted Thursday</a>, is Pearls and Lace. Last post, I showed the creation of one of the digital journals available from our sponsor, <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/vectoriadesigns">Vectoria Designs!</a> <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />Here is a double page spread with this weeks twist:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I used several elements from one of the sets that I printed out, and I also added some things from my stash, stencils, and Distress ink borders to tone down the brightness a bit. The butterfly has a jeweled body just for fun too!<br />
<br />
As I said in my last post, I am so in love with these <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/VectoriaDesigns?section_id=17033748">reasonably priced journal sets </a>that I had to purchase several of them!<br />
<br />
And, remember, there are loads of helpful videos on how to construct your own journals on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh84ObDoLp5UfIJYMPVx4ftvk5uDw0trn">YouTube</a>!<br />

Well, for me it was dolls. I had/have many! Never really took to the Raggedy Ann kind, but that's the image I had from Dee Dees Digis, which doesn't seem to be selling any longer. The sentiment is from Tiddly Inks. <br />

Part of the challenge was to use Kraft, which I just love using. I used some Copics, Prismacolor pencils, and gel pens.<br />
<br />
An option includes sharing with <a href="https://craftinghappinesschallenges.blogspot.com/2020/05/crafting-happiness-ch-49-anything-goes.html">Crafting Happiness</a> who has an "kids" theme going on!<br />

Using elements from the set, I created the covers and pages. On the right page, the circle can be lifted to place a "hidden" message.<br />

Adding a lot of Distress inks and subtle pencil coloring adds to the vintage look of any page. <br />

<br />
I have been having so much fun with my new stamp set from <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps-FOLLOW-THE-RAINBOWS-sss102110--sss102110">Simon Says Stamp, Follow the Rainbow</a> (colored with Copics), and the fun clouds stencil, <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Stencils-CLOUDS-FOR-DAYS-ssst121423-Sending-Sunshine-ssst121423?currency=USD">Clouds for Days</a> (using Distress Inks). I stamped then masked the image to add the background. Using the inspirational photo, I selected clouds, an umbrella, a puddle with clear Nuvo drops with matching raindrops, and the color lavender, one of my favorites!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I used the digital set, <a href="https://stamplorationsdigi.dpdcart.com/product/179766">Spring Blooms and Mugs</a>, for the individual mug, colored with Copics, and then popped. The other mug is a stamp, <a href="https://stamplorations.auctivacommerce.com/OUT-OF-STOCK-Framed-Coffee-Cup-P5645350.aspx">Framed Coffee Cup</a>, stamped with a sentiment from <a href="https://stamplorations.auctivacommerce.com/OUT-OF-STOCK-Coffeeology-Shery-Russ-Designs-P5777868.aspx">Coffeeology</a>. and highlighted with Distress Inks and some colored pencils. I pulled out my newest stamps set, <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps-STRONGER-TOGETHER-sss202085--sss202085">Stronger Together</a>, from Simon Says Stamps, and heat embossed on some scraps of paper I had on my desk. I colored with metallic colored pencils and added some white gel pen details. The little hearts are popped and a few Nuvo drops were added for a bit more texture. <br />

I am so pleased to share the coffee date card I made with my dear friend <a href="https://bzscrapper66.blogspot.com/2020/03/coffee-date-with-lisa-and-jean.html">Lisa Bzibziak</a> for the <a href="http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/13459?fbclid=IwAR3M1FsiY2Cta1MLAtiKMM-xbA1MVMPCedO-Xwb-1RKeA9z6RTb9fnPJEu8">Coffee Loving Cardmakers</a>.
We share the same love of collecting stamps and dies so it was hard to narrow down what we would select to use in common. We finally decided to go with one of our favorite stamp companies, Art Impression Stamps (I used Art Impressions <a href="https://www.artimpressions.com/shop/aics32-hot-java-mama/">Hot Java Mama</a>), and a Stamps of Life <a href="https://thestampsoflife.com/coffee-cup-fold-it.html">Coffee Cup A2 Fold-it Card</a> stand up card). Lisa is a great "date", and we had so much fun doing this for you!</div>

I cut the card itself from Kraft and colored with Copic Markers, Prismacolor colored pencils, and a white gel pen. A wrap with some red heavy string finished up the card.<br />
Please be sure to get over to Lisa's blog to see what she created for our "date"!<br />

I find these beautiful stamps mesmerizing and delightful stories just pop into my imagination. Both sites are wonderful with loads of inspiration and purchased can be made from either. <br />

My die cut is <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Sizzix-Tholtz-Thinlits-Paper-Bird/dp/B06Y6J56GY">Paper Cut Bird from Sizzix</a>. I had to use two different die cutting machines. First, I used my Big Shot and even with the Precision Base and many pass throughs, it wasn't cut all the way. So, off to my Gemini Jr. and with the added metal shim it went through. The little bee is from an Inkadoo set called <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Inkadinkado-Clear-Stamps-8-Inch-Patterned/dp/B001UJYBKA">Patterned Birds & Bugs</a>. I added a bit of twine, a ribbon, and some Nuvo drops to say welcome to spring!<br />
